Calendar

This is a calendar I've made for a Christmas present. Sorry
to the person who may see it, and then get it! I've made all
the calendar sheets removable so when the year is over it can
still be a photo book. I've already selected and put photos behind
them, but I won't show them so the person won't know right
away!

You get the idea. I got the boards with pre-cut holes and the
calendars at the scrapbook store Girlfriends downtown. The big
rings at office max and then I already had all the other supplies.
A fun project. I made two of these. The first one took about 8-10
hours and then my second one, maybe 4. It takes a bit to get the
hang of it, but I was trying to be way too creative with the rings,
using a different material. Once I bought the rings it was much
easier.

Crafts cause messes

This is what my craft table looks like when I get into
a project. I need to come up with a better system.

Another mirror. I originally made this for a gift, but may
keep it. It goes well with my room now. It looked clean until I took this picture!

This one isn't done either. I still need to sand the edges and
do some touch ups. Close enough though! It's paint and then
scrapbook paper. The brown strips on the sides are leather paper
with brads inserted.

Now I have to make one more for the gift. It's actually for a
prize for my bunco group in Dec. I can't decide which colors to
do that anybody could use in there house. What do you think?

Something new, finally

I've been so busy working on Christmas presents, but
I finally made time for this. It's not quite finished, I
think I might sand the edges still, but I figured I'd
post it anyway. It's like the mirror I made for my
whizzy, but bigger. This will be my new colors for
my next bedroom. I got a really beautiful bedspread
on clearance in black and cream so I figured I'd make
something to go in there.

What's nice is since I get free wood this cost under $10.
It only took 6 hours to construct, but whatever!

Any suggestions?

Any suggestions? I got this window at a yard sale
for $8 last summer and here it still sits! I did sand
it all down and I added this backing and a closure on
the side.

My original idea was to make it a jewelry display case so
I bought some hooks, then I was going to put it in Brady's
room and scrapbook some photos and antique it. I don't
know, I'm up for suggestion though, whatchya got?Then........................ my next project. I got a sewing
machine last Christmas and all I've made is a headband
and hemmed some pants. I signed up for a sewing class
that starts on Oct. 7 which I'm excited about. We'll see
what I can come up with with this. I'll keep you posted.

whizzy~crafts!

Isn't this mirror cool?! We had my family reunion and we always
have a "Whizzy" which is a gift exchange that we do where we
have to make our gift. Joe got creative this year and welded
this mirror with tube steel. I really wanted to keep it for
myself, but I guess I'll let someone else enjoy it. He has to
make me another one though:) This was mine. I just got wood from his work and then made a
frame and then scrapbooked it, (suprise!). First, I painted the
outside edges and then stained the very edge then scrapbooked
inside that. It was a fun project. I added hooks on the bottom
because the frame was just a little bit uneven so I was covering
it. Tricky!
This was a recent project I finished for Brady's room. I bought this
airplane (vinyl) and decided to cut a big piece of wood and make it
look like I had framed it. Again, just scrapbook paper.

This is just where I put it in his room.
Okay, this is Brady's growth chart that I finally got. It's not really
done, but I feel to burnt out to think anymore. I'm not happy with
how the "Lift off" words turned out so I have to think on that. Plus
this one was a pain to get on for some reason. I would've thought
that Macy's would have been harder. I got this one all stuck and
was lucky to even salvage it. I just couldn't get it straight so that
bugs me, but I'm not about to buy a new one and try again! It'll
have to do.
I have to make time to make my kids scrapbooks. Seriously, I have
them all ready and pages in order to make, I need to just do it! Hopefully
that will be my next project~we'll see.

Scrapbook

This post is mainly for a few family members. We're making a
scrapbook for our reunion that is coming up in a couple of
weekends and I put it all together. A few people have had
a few questions so I thought I would just post it so they
could look it up on here. This is my family's page. Here's my brother Paul's page. He won't be coming so
I finished it early as well.
Heather here is your page! Sorry these have such a glare
but the flash is bright and it doesn't help that they are in
their plastic covers too!
Here is the book we chose. Actually my mom chose it
but it works very good for what we are using it for!
Stay tuned for more projects. We do a "whizzy Watson" each
reunion in which we are required to make our present. It's
a pretty big deal and there are about 40 or so of us that
participate in it. We stick them all in the middle of the room
and do a gift exchange. I won't go into too much detail because
there are all sorts of rules to it, but I'm excited for it. Joe and
I have some pretty cool gifts (at least I think) I'd take
it if nobody else wants it! I for sure want Joe's! I almost
told him I would keep his and then make another one to
take:) I still might!! And Heather you'll just have to be
in suspense!!!:)

Dinner is on!

Well, I finished my recipe box and I'm pumped to get
cooking!:) Now I need to sit down tomorrow and fill out
my clipboard. I'll let you know how it goes!
Just a shot of the tabs
I love these tabs because they are really detailed so I
can really get specific on where to put my recipes. This
way I don't have to search through tons of them to find
one.
Close ups. Makes me want to open the box!
I updated the clipboard because as I was looking at it I
realized I would want to be able to take the shopping
list with me to the store so I just split the top pages in
half so when the list is done I can take the top one off and
throw it in my purse.

Recipe Clipboard

I'm really excited about this project because I keep saying that
I want to plan my meals out week by week and I just haven't
done it yet. Until now! The top part has the days of the week
to write down the name of the meal. Then I have a place
for my shopping list for the week and at the bottom a place for
the recipes. I just know this will get me more organized and more
motivated to cook every night. Stay tuned for my next project
(the recipe box)!

This is Macy's room and I made (sort of) the growth chart to the
left and the art above the bed. Now, the brown parts of both are
vinyl so the one above the bed I had boards cut to fit and just
painted them pink so it would show through. Easy, huh? The vinyl
is from upper-case living. If anyone needs a catalog I have a friend
who is a new consultant.

This is the growth chart close up. I just got some scrapbook paper and glued it down with some tacky glue. Make sure to smooth it down over and over with a credit card or something.

These are my bunco invitations. Cute, but cost a little more to mail in a clear envelope.

These are the prizes I made for bunco. I think most of them are somewhere
on this blog!
This is a photo carousel. I just scrapbooked each one so a picture
be attached and then other pictures can be stored behind them.

These are just a few scrapbook pages I finally got done of the
kids. Once the blogging world started I've been a slacker on
the scrapbooks:(

This is a frame with a magnetic board in the middle.

A frame I made for a friends baby shower.
Bunco prize. Of course I took the picture out!
At the time I took this picture I couldn't decide what to do with
this project. I ended up making it a keepsake book since it had
some pages that could be enclosed.
Here are the pages.
Another frame. These are so cute and so easy.

A book that has a 12 months in it. For those of you who
don't know these books come put together but are just
card board. They really do take forever to make, because
you have to scrapbook EVERYTHING!
A few of the pages.

This whole thing cost between $5-$7 for materials. Cute, huh?

A photo box.

I know, another frame!
This is one of my favorite prizes I made. A recipe book.
I got everybody's favorite recipes from our bunco group and put them
in here. They were some good recipes too so I'm glad I have them all
saved on my email!

This was the other favorite and this one took the longest.
What a good gift though. I love getting and giving personal
gifts like this. Hopefully my friends like it too, because that's
seems to be all I do lately!
I've scrapbooked open places for whoever gets this to add
pictures on each page.

This is a gratitude journal. We could all use one of these!
Magnetic board we made at a enrichment activity. I didn't say
these were all my ideas did I?:)
These I keep in my room.
A Shadow box.
Another darn frame I made for a friends new baby.
Yep, another one! Isn't Maddie cute? My friend Holly's baby.
My friend got some vinyl letters for her daughters room and
wanted my help making it cute. The "B" and "Y" are in frames
and the rest of the letters are on plaques that I painted white.
I scrapbooked the letters and then the frames and plaques as
well. Hung it with ribbon and called it a day. They turned out
way cute and I want to do this with my kids rooms too. I've got
the letters, but don't have the time!:)

I'm working on some fun projects right now so I'll get them posted as soon as they're finished.
